WerkDone started in 2018 as a Singapore-based digitalisation company serving enterprise B2B clients. In early 2020, a community care engagement changed the trajectory of the company. Working closely in that environment exposed the deep-seated operational pains that hound community care organisations: fragmented systems, manual compliance processes, and software designed for a different sector entirely.
That first community care engagement quickly invited further conversations with other providers — nursing homes, SCCs, and social service agencies. In high-touch sectors like community care, administrative burden takes time away from the people who need it most. Solving that gap became and has stayed WerkDone's focus ever since.
We built the OneCare Suite to give that time back, and more. Not another generic platform force-fitted into the community care context, but with software built around how the sector actually operates in Singapore. Today, over 30 community care organisations across Singapore run on WerkDone’s OneCare solutions. Together, we are reshaping the way community care is delivered.

James Kow

A different vantage point
Before WerkDone, James Kow spent over a decade building and scaling technology enablement businesses across Asia — enterprise IT in China and Hong Kong, payment systems in Singapore, as well as people management and digital transformation in diverse sectors. The common theme: helping organisations make technology work for their operations, not the other way around.
When WerkDone encountered community care, that cross-sector perspective and wider strategic lens proved decisive. Where industry insiders had accepted fragmented systems and manual compliance processes as the cost of doing business, James saw problems he had already solved in other contexts; gaps that no existing vendor was addressing.
WerkDone's early engagements with nursing homes, SCCs, and SSAs gave James and the team a detailed understanding of how community care organisations actually run: reporting cycles, staffing patterns, funding structures, and the regulatory landscape they navigate daily. Combining that deep understanding with years of technological and cross-sector experience has since led to over 40 community care project engagements.
The next chapter
In 2025, James stepped back from day-to-day operations into a strategic advisory role. It gave him time to study how the landscape was shifting, and how emerging technological capabilities could change what a lean, focused team delivers for its clients. This distance was deliberate as it was short-lived.
In April 2026, he returned to lead as Chief Architect in a "re-founding" of WerkDone. Not a rebrand or a pivot, but a rewiring of how WerkDone builds, delivers, and supports its products. Early results have been striking: in a recent data migration engagement, the client’s operations team saw 15 years of historical data surfaced and structured in the first week. A milestone that, in previous projects, typically arrived in month three.
The ambition isn’t to replace expertise with automation and emergent technologies. It’s to make every hour of domain knowledge go further — for WerkDone’s own team, and the community care organisations they serve.
